About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead our structural engineering team based out of Jefferson City, MO. This individual will oversee a team of engineers and designers, providing technical leadership, project management, and client engagement. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership and business development skills.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
- Provide oversight and technical guidance for the design and analysis of structural systems using Civil 3D (or similar design software).
- Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with codes and standards.
Team Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and designers.
- Manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and promote a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Project Management:
- Lead structural design projects from concept through completion.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules; monitor progress and performance.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
Client Relations & Business Development:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project partners.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and delivery excellence.
- Lead business development activities, including proposal writing, presentations, and networking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license a plus.
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience in structural design for steel, concrete, and masonry structures within civil infrastructure or related sectors.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable modeling/design software.
- Strong project management, client relationship, and business development skills.
Compensation
- This position offers a salary range of $120,000-140,000 per year along with performance bonus potential, comprehensive health benefits, PTO, and holiday pay.
- The listed salary range reflects the potential compensation for this role. Starting pay will be based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
