About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Aviation Engineer with a strong background in civil engineering and a proven track record of working on aviation-related projects. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with experience in the planning, design, and construction management of airport infrastructure. This individual will be tied to our Pittsfield, IL location.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support the design and development of airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, access roads, and stormwater systems.
- Prepare engineering reports, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Ensure projects comply with FAA regulations, local permitting requirements, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, airport authorities, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage or assist in construction administration, including site inspections, submittal reviews, and responding to RFIs.
- Support proposal development and participate in business development efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Illinois.
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years focused on aviation-related projects.
- Working knowledge of FAA design standards and familiarity with airport planning and design guidelines.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or Open Roads.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong project management, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings.
Compensation
- This position offers a salary range of $90,000–$120,000 per year, along with comprehensive health benefits, PTO, and holiday pay.
