About the Role
We’re hiring a Florida-licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) to lead our Florida operations as Regional Manager. This is a high-visibility role for an entrepreneurial civil engineer with strong technical experience and a passion for business development.
You’ll serve as the face of MECO in Florida—building client relationships, identifying new opportunities, delivering exceptional engineering solutions, and overseeing a talented team of seven existing staff members. This is a rare opportunity to lead growth in an emerging market while being backed by the stability, reputation, and resources of an established firm
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage and support a team of 7 engineers and technical staff in Florida. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
- Business Development: Establish and grow MECO’s presence in Florida. Identify opportunities, build relationships with municipal clients and agencies, and drive new business.
- Project Management: Oversee a range of civil engineering projects including water/wastewater systems, stormwater, hydrology, transportation, and site civil design.
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for Florida clients, ensuring project satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Operational Oversight: Manage local operations, align with MECO’s strategic goals, and coordinate with Midwest leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in civil engineering, including project management
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida
- Proven experience developing client relationships and winning public sector work
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Experience launching or scaling a regional office
- Familiarity with FDOT and Florida municipal infrastructure
